MEMORIAL DAY WEEKEND - 2011

The weather was so cold and wet we decided to camp at home! We fired up the wood buring stove and roasted hot dogs and smores.

Grandpa and Grandma Ward joined us at our camp site. Grandpa said he had never had such a "rough" camp before!

Grandma Ward and Lexie

After we had enough to eat we retired to our camping quarters in the trailer! It was a cold night with temperatures in the mid 30's and nearly constant rain all night. Thank goodness for a warm trailer with a good heater!

Karynn, Shane and Lexie even got in a game of Phase 10.....

The weather has been so nice we thought we'd roast some marshmellows and have a nice fire in the fire pit.....It was great until the wind picked up. The smoke was burning our eyes. Karynn found the goggles and we continued enjoying the smores.

Our beautiful Lexie had a big fall from a bunk bed at the her babysitter's house this past week.

Of course she picked out the brightest pink cast color they offered.

.....And how to be a beautiful princess.

Happy Birthday to Shane! Shane turned 6 years old this year. He got to decorate his cake for his birthday party.

And what a great job he did!

Our family enjoys going to the Salt Lake County Fair every year. They had a petting zoo there. The kids got a big kick out of playing with the animals.

Lexie got her ears pierced!

They gave her a certificate of bravery for being such a good girl!

Some summer highlights ~

Shane started school this year. He is in Kindergarten. His teacher is Mrs. McDougal. He is growing up so fast!

Karynn was also very anxious to start school. She is a really good student. She is in Mrs. Smith / Mrs. Bateman's class this year. A big 3rd grader!

~ Our 10th Wedding Anniversray ~

John and I celebrated our 1oth wedding anniversary this year. We took off for Las Vegas and stayed at out time share - Tahiti Village. It was nice to spend some time together.

One of the shows we saw while we were there was "Terry Fator." He is a vantriliquist that recently won "America's Got Talent." We laughed a lot and loved the entertainment. Mike and Joanna Sutton joined us the last night we were there. It was great to get to know them better.
